My least favourite game of the season this, I hate playing against these.
I get that they are an amazing team but they bore the life out of me.

A draw would be a fantastic result. This West Ham team continue to surprise & delight so here’s hoping for another……

I’d take a defeat by the odd goal right now.

That's the spirit twoleftfeet.

There is no reason to think we don't have a realistic chance of winning this. Manchester City are not the same team they were three and four seasons ago (despite being reigning Champions) and are vulnerable against well organised, hard working teams like West Ham under Moyes.

We need to start thinking with a 'big team' mentality, given the good first XI and tactically astute manager that we have now and not go into these games willing to 'take' a narrow defeat like white flag wearing no hopers.

In a way, the narrow defeat at Wolves came at a good time, as Moyes will have learned a lot in terms of system and personnel after the Ogbonna injury situation ahead of three Premier League games in a week. I would be amazed if he doesn't freshen it up and switch to a three at the back, wing back 3-4-2-1 formation. Personally, I think Benrahma should make way for Coufal to accommodate this formation.

Bring it on.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Benrahma must play if we are going to have a crack at them. There is no KDB and this makes a huge difference as in our last three games against them there has been little in it over all.

“I’d take a defeat by the odd goal right now”.

Well I and many fans will not unless we have put up a stirring performance and pushed City all the way.

We slipped below our level agains Wolves ( who had a goalless draw against lowly Norwich yesterday ) and I want us to up our game to what it has been mostly and especially as we demonstrated against Liverpool.

I am realistic we-are up against a top team, in their midden, but minimally I want a performance to be proud of irrespective of the result. Consecutive defeats don’t hang well especially if this one is a de facto low scoring surrender. I want those days gone.

No reason we can’t get something out of this… worst thing we could do is score too early.

It's about this time of the year that I look forward to a jolly good spanking.

Goose 11.40 “ get that they are an amazing team but they bore the life out of me”

Couldn’t agree more. Seems churlish not to fawn all over them like the pundits do but I can’t stand watching them. For such an expensive and successful team they seem to me to be utterly characterless.

Goose/FGU, I feel the same, for me Liverpool are the most ( other than WHU )watchable team right now.

They have so much talent, but even they miss De Bruyne when he’s out, and I’ll be very glad if Grealish and more particularly Foden are out.

We have to up our performance from Wolves, and then this is no guaranteed defeat as it has been in the past.

Take an odd goal defeat right now ? , might as well not bother making the trip up there then eh !

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I’m not travelling up there.

I’m a realist.

We are playing ok but we lost to Wolves, City are in good form and we do struggle up there so I was merely expressing a view.

Hopefully I am wrong and get cunted off after we have won.

We've got a chance in this one, not expecting a result but wouldn't be surprised if we nicked a draw. Would be a decent outcome.

I like this new optimism. Not sure I'm completely comfortable with it being an old git of many false dawns, but I like it.

2/3 seasons ago we were talking in terms of keeping the drubbing from them in single figures. Now we're talking about going to their drum and coming away with something. If this is the new West Ham way, I think I can live with that.

Is snow as bad there as at Burnley?

Had bet on us to win 4-2.
